Chile reports third consecutive day of over 800 cases of COVID-19

Santiago (Chile), October 5: Chile has registered more than 800 cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) for the third consecutive day, the Ministry of Health reported on Saturday.
In the last 24 hours, the ministry reported a total of 853 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections to 1,655,884.
Another eight deaths were also registered over the last day, bringing the death toll to 37,484.
Chile began October with a slight increase in COVID-19 cases after several weeks of reporting fewer than 500 daily infections.
On Thursday, the state of emergency that had been in force for 19 months in Chile ended, terminating the curfew that had governed the entire country.
