Croatia's tourism revenue expected to reach record high this year

Aug 16, 2022

Zagreb [Croatia], August 16: Annual revenue from Croatia's tourism industry is expected to reach a record-high 11.3 billion euros (about 11.5 billion U.S. dollars) this year, the Croatian newspaper The Morning Paper reported on Monday.
The figure will surpass pre-pandemic levels in 2019 when tourists spent 10.5 billion euros in Croatia, the newspaper said.
In the first three months of 2022, Croatia's tourism revenue amounted to 500 million euros, more than double the number in the same period last year and slightly exceeding the figure in 2019, according to data from Croatian National Bank, as quoted by the report.
Citing a record-high employment rate and GDP growth forecast of 5.5 percent this year, the report said growing tourism revenue would contribute to Croatia's economic growth. (1 euro = 1.02 U.S. dollars)
