Singapore reports 5,481 new COVID-19 cases

Singapore, August 13: Singapore reported 5,481 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total tally to 1,786,643.
Of the new cases, 600 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 4,881 through antigen rapid tests, or ART according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.
Among the PCR cases, 545 were local transmissions and 55 were imported cases. Among the ART cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 4,495 local transmissions and 386 imported cases, respectively.
A total of 642 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with 24 cases in intensive care units.
Six deaths were reported from COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total death toll to 1,552, the ministry said.
