Bangladesh's October exports fall 7.85 pct

Dhaka [Bangladesh], November 3: Bangladesh exported goods worth 4.36 billion dollars in October, which was 7.85 percent lower than the same month a year ago, according to the latest official data on Wednesday.
However, the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data showed that Bangladesh's total exports in the first four months of the current 2022-23 fiscal year (July 2022-June 2023) reached nearly 17 billion U.S. dollars, up 7.01 percent year on year.
The EPB data showed Bangladesh earned 16,853.51 million dollars from exports in the July-October period, compared to 15,749.48 million dollars in the same period a year earlier.
Of the total earnings, the EPB data showed the country's income from ready-made knitwear and woven garment items surged 10.55 percent to 13.95 billion dollars during the cited period.
Bangladesh saw exports soar more than 34 percent to 52.08 billion dollars in the 2021-22 fiscal year (July 2021-June 2022), official data showed.
