Malaysia reports 1,360 new COVID-19 infections, 1 new death

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), October 3: Malaysia recorded 1,360 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Sunday, bringing the total tally to 4,843,865, according to the health ministry.
They included one new imported case and 1,359 local transmissions, data released on the ministry's website showed.
One new death was reported from the pandemic, taking the death toll to 36,375.
The ministry reported 2,271 new recoveries, bringing the total number of COVID-19 patients cured and discharged to 4,783,393 in the Southeast Asian country.
Currently there are 24,097 active cases, with 45 of them held in intensive care and 28 in need of assisted breathing.
The country reported 933 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered on Sunday, and 86.1 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 84.2 percent are fully vaccinated with two doses, 49.7 percent have received a first booster dose and 1.5 percent have received a second booster dose.
