150 workers trapped in eastern Ukrainian mine after Russian attack

Moscow [Russia], August 27: Almost 150 miners in eastern Ukraine are trapped underground due to a Russian attack on their coal mine, media reports said on Tuesday.
Ukrainian media reported that the shelling caused a power outage at the Bilozerske mine near Dobropillya. The operator, Ukrainian power supplier DTEK, did not specify the exact location but confirmed the attack on Telegram.
One worker was killed, and three others were injured. Efforts are under way to bring 146 trapped miners back to the surface. it said. The head of the miners' union, Mykhaylo Volynets, mentioned 148 trapped miners. A local Telegram channel showed a photo of a thick black cloud of smoke over the mine.
