Washington [US], March 12: Norwegian police have arrested three suspects following an explosion at the US embassy in Oslo.
Lead investigator Christian Hatlo said on Wednesday that the men are suspected of having committed a terrorist offence.
On Sunday night, an explosion occurred at one of the entrances to the US embassy in the Norwegian capital. No one was injured.
The three suspects are brothers aged between 20 and 29, said Hatlo according to the Norwegian broadcaster NRK.
They are Norwegian citizens with an Iraqi migration background and were not previously known to the police.
Hatlo did not rule out the possibility of further arrests.
He told NRK the police were now investigating whether the attack had been ordered by a state actor.
Norwegian authorities are working with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation and Interpol as part of the investigation, NRK reported.
