Al Rayyan, Umm Salal book places in QSL Cup semis

Mar 25, 2026

Doha [Qatar], March 25: Al Rayyan and Umm Salal made lightwork of their rivals as they marched into the semi-finals of the 2025-26 season QSL Cup with wins on Tuesday.
Al Rayyan defeated Al Shahania 3-0 at the Al Khor Stadium with Ahmed Alaaeldin scoring a brace (36th & and 66th minutes) while Roger Guedes' (62nd minute) adding another.
The Lions, who were stopped at this stage last season by Umm Salal, bagged their last-four berth with a dominating performance.
Alaaeldin nodded home his first of the night off a corner kick by Gabriel Pereira.
Guedes then poked into an empty net, also off a corner kick in the second half to extend the lead.
Alaaeldin completed his brace four minutes later, tapping into an empty net from a precise diagonal pass by Tiago Silva.
In the later match at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium, Umm Salal came up with late goals to dash the hopes of Al Bidda 2-0.
Antonio Mance (73rd minute) and Cristo Perez (87th minute) were on target for Umm Salal.
Al Bidda's Swedish goalkeeper Carl Filip Sidklev gave a good account of himself in the game making some very good saves. But soon after he had foiled an Umm Salal attempt with his stretched left leg to a goal-bound kick of Perez, a melee in front of the goal saw Mance seize the chance with his kick finding a defender before going in - something that also deceived Sidklev.
The lead added to Umm Salal's attack and they soon added another goal with Perez being provided a fine cross and he beat a lone goalkeeper to the top left corner.
On Wednesday, Muaither will meet Al Markhiya at the Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium at 6.15pm while Al Arabi will take on Al Waab at the Al Khor Stadium at 8.15pm.
