April 2024 marks warmest April on record: NASA

May 11, 2024

Los Angeles [US], May 11: April 2024 marks the warmest April on record, according to new data released by NASA on Friday.
April this year was 1.32 degrees Celsius (2.38 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than the average April during the baseline period between 1951 and 1980 for NASA's temperature record.
It makes April 2024 the 11th record-breaking month in a row, data showed.
There is a clear human-driven warming trend, even though temperatures don't rise uniformly. The largest source of year-to-year variability is the El Niño-Southern Oscillation, reducing or increasing average values a bit even as temperatures rise overall, according to NASA.
