Belarus foreign debt down 1.6 bln USD in 2024

Minsk [Belarus], March 15: Belarusian foreign debt decreased by 1.6 billion U.S. dollars in 2024, local media reported on Friday.
The country's gross foreign debt decreased by 1.6 billion U.S. dollars from 36.8 billion on January 1, 2024 to 35.2 billion on January 1, 2025, according to official statistics of the country's central bank.
External debt per capita decreased from 4 thousand to 3.8 thousand U.S. dollars.
The debt-to-GDP ratio also decreased: from 50.9 percent on January 1, 2024 to 46.3 percent on January 1, 2025.
