British rider Lee Pearson wins 14th Paralympic gold medal

Aug 31, 2021

Tokyo (Japan), August 31: British equestrian athlete Lee Pearson has won his 14th Paralympic gold medal as he took the Para-dressage individual freestyle test - Grade II.
Pearson, 47, born with arthrogryposis multiplex congenital, scored 82.447 percent with his horse Breezer Monday night.
Austria's Pepo Puch finished second with Sailor's Blue and Georgia Wilson, also from Britain, took bronze.
It was Pearson's third gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games, following his victory in the individual Grade II test and the team title.
"Number 14, it's good to remind me. I'm twice over the moon," Parsons said.
The 47-year-old told media that his horse was a little bit nervous and spooked before heading into the arena ahead of their event at the Equestrian Park and did his best to reassure Breezer.
Pearson won three gold medals in each Paralympic Games from Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008. He went on to win the team dressage event at both London 2012 and Rio 2016 Paralympics.
