China's growing nuclear arsenal

Beijing [China], August 20: Alongside a massive build-up in conventional military firepower, China has embarked on a rapid and sustained increase in the size and capability of its nuclear forces, according to the U.S. military and arms control experts.
The commander of the U.S. Strategic Command, General Anthony Cotton, told Congress in March that the directive from Chinese leader Xi Jinping that China's military be ready to seize Taiwan by 2027 was driving a build-up of nuclear weapons that could be launched from land, air and sea.

AIDCF Calls for GST Relief to Safeguard Cable TV Industry

New Delhi [India], August 27: The All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF), the apex body representing India's Digital Multi-System Operators (MSOs), has appealed to the Government of India for a reduction in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate on Cable TV services from the existing 18% slab to 5%. This request has been placed in the context of Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji's vision of introducing next-generation GST reforms aimed at simplifying the structure, rationalising rates, and easing the tax burden on citizens.
