Germany sends 1,000 military vehicles to Lithuania for major exercises

Riga [Latvia], September 7: More than 1,000 German military vehicles have arrived in Lithuania for a major exercise on NATO's eastern flank.
Two cargo ships were used to transport combat vehicles, armoured recovery vehicles, medical trucks and other equipment along with accompanying personnel from the German port of Rostock across the Baltic Sea to Lithuania, a member of both the European Union and NATO.
After arriving in the port of Klaipeda, the convoy of the 37th Armoured Infantry Brigade set off for Pabrade and other Lithuanian military bases, a spokesman for Germany's military, the Bundeswehr, said on Saturday.
