Oct 30, 2024

Washington [US], October 30: Democratic candidate Kamala Harris on October 29 (ie the morning of October 30, Vietnam time) gave a speech at the Ellipse park, where Mr. Trump gave a speech before the Capitol Hill riot on January 6, 2021.
According to CNN citing her speech at the Ellipse in Washington DC (USA), Ms. Harris said: "We know who Donald Trump is." Ms. Harris accused former President Donald Trump of sending an armed mob to the Capitol to try to overturn his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.
Ms. Harris also criticized: "Mr. Trump is unstable, obsessed with revenge, grievances and wants to gain uncontrolled power." The vice president expressed his readiness to become the owner of the White House, while emphasizing that this is the time for the American people to unite and choose a new generation of leaders.
Vice President Harris said that although she is "honored" to serve under US President Joe Biden, if she wins the election, her term will have its own color.
On the campaign trail, Vice President Kamala Harris has outlined a number of policy proposals. Among them, Harris has pledged to cut taxes for workers and the middle class. "I will make sure you have the opportunity, not just to get by, but to get ahead," she said.
The vice president said she would limit prescription drug costs for all Americans and allow Medicare, a national health insurance program in the US, to cover the cost of home care for the elderly.
Regarding immigration, Democratic candidate Harris emphasized: "We have to recognize that we are a nation of immigrants." Ms. Harris pledged to focus on prosecuting transnational gangs.
In another development, a Reuters/Ipsos poll on October 29 showed Vice President Kamala Harris' lead over former President Donald Trump has narrowed to 44% to 43% among registered voters.
Ms Harris has led Mr Trump in every Reuters/Ipsos poll since taking over from US President Joe Biden in July, but her advantage has gradually diminished since late September, according to Reuters.
