Harry to return to UK on Queen Elizabeth's anniversary

Aug 29, 2025

London [UK], August 29: Britain's Prince Harry will return to the UK on the third anniversary of the death of Queen Elizabeth II for a charity awards ceremony.
The 40-year-old, who lives in California, will be supporting the WellChild children's charity of which he is a long-standing patron.
Its 2025 awards are on September 8, three years to the day since Harry's grandmother died at her home in Balmoral in Aberdeenshire in Scotland.
Harry will make a speech, meet and talk with seriously ill children and their families, and present an award to an "inspirational child" aged between 4 and 6. Harry, who is the duke of Sussex, has attended the awards 14 times before and has held the role of the charity's patron for 17 years.
In a statement, he said: "I am always privileged to attend the WellChild Awards and meet the incredible children, families and professionals who inspire us all with their strength and spirit.
"For 20 years these awards have highlighted the courage of young people living with complex health needs and shone a light on the devoted caregivers - family and professionals - who support them every step of the way. Their stories remind us of the power of compassion, connection and community."
His visit will raise further speculation about the possibility of a meeting with his father, King Charles III, or his estranged brother, William.
