Iran carries out six more executions

Tehran [Iran], October 5: Six more death sentences have been carried out in Iran in the wake of the war with Israel earlier this year, Iranian media reported on Saturday.
The latest executions were carried out in the province of Khuzestan in the morning, according to the Mizan news agency, which is affiliated with the judiciary.
The identities and genders of those executed were not disclosed.
According to the report, they were accused of terrorist attacks and collaborating with Israel.
Human rights activists have for years opposed the rigorous application of the death penalty in Iran, accusing the authorities of using executions to intimidate critical voices.
Amnesty International said more executions have been recorded in Iran this year than in any of the past 15 years, with more than 1,000 death sentences carried out so far.
