Judd Trump out of snooker Masters after COVID-19 positive test

Jan 10, 2021

London (UK), January 10: World number one Judd Trump and 14th-ranked Jack Lisowski will both miss the upcoming Snooker Masters after testing positive for COVID-19, revealed the World Snooker Tour (WST) on Saturday.
The annual invitation event will be unveiled in Milton Keynes, England on Sunday. It's the first time that the tournament will be held outside London, as the organizers were forced to make the change due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
The WST said all players were tested two days in advance of their first match, and after the test, they remained in isolation until the results were received.
Trump was due to play David Gilbert in his opening match on Sunday. He has been replaced by Joe Perry while Gary Wilson has replaced Lisowski to face Kyren Wilson.
The WST confirmed that all other players and officials tested at the event so far have had negative results.
The event, involving the top 16 players in the world, will run to January 17 with seven-time Masters champion Ronnie O'Sullivan facing China's top player Ding Junhui in the first round on Wednesday.
Chinese hopeful Yan Bingtao was drawn to play against Australian ace Neil Robertson on Tuesday.
