Over 700 aircraft cross Iraqi airspace daily

Baghdad [Iraq], May 12: Iraq announced today that the number of aircraft using its airspace has recently increased significantly.
Iraqi Ministry of Transport spokesperson Maytham Al-Safi said in a press statement that the number of aircraft transiting Iraqi airspace daily has risen to more than 700, whereas the previous average ranged between 300 and 350 aircraft.
"Iraq earns $9.45 million per month from the use of its airspace, according to the latest official statistics," he added.
