Pentagon report says no evidence of alien life found, and no cover-up

Mar 10, 2024

Washington [US], March 10: According to the US Department of Defence, there is neither evidence of alien visits to Earth nor efforts to keep information about them secret.
This is according to a report published by the Pentagon on Friday. The report states that many sightings of "unidentified anomalous phenomena" - commonly known as UFOs - are still unexplained. In the vast majority of cases, however, there is simply a lack of usable data.
In addition, "Resources and staffing for these programs largely have been irregular and sporadic, challenging investigatory efforts and hindering effective knowledge transfer," which makes investigations even more difficult the report said.
Specifically, the report looks at US government investigations into such sightings since 1945 and also refers to findings from secret government archives. According to the report, there is no evidence that information about extraterrestrial life has been withheld by the US military. Instead, the focus was on "more important matters," such as the exploration of Soviet technologies.
The report also recognised that the idea of extraterrestrial life preoccupied many people.
