Romania's Jan-Apr wholesale trade turnover grows 1.2%

Bucharest [Romania], June 22: The turnover of wholesale trade in Romania advanced 1.2 percent year-on-year (YoY), unadjusted, in the first four months of 2024, according to data published on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
According to Romania's national news agency, AGERPRES, positive results were recorded between 1st January and 30th April, 2024, in non-specialised wholesale trade (+18.7 percent), other specialised wholesale (+14 percent), wholesale of other machinery, equipment and supplies (+10.9 percent) and wholesale of agricultural raw materials and live animals (+0.3 percent).
On the other hand, decreases were recorded in wholesale trade intermediation (-9.2 percent), wholesale of consumer goods other than food (-6.8 percent), wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco (-2.1 percent) and wholesale of IT and telecommunications equipment (-0.6 percent). When seasonally adjusted, the turnover in wholesale trade, except for motor vehicles and motorcycles, increased by 2.3 percent YoY.
