School bus accident with truck claims 13 children's lives in South Africa

Johannesburg [South Africa], January 20: Thirteen schoolchildren have died when their school bus collided with a truck to the south of Johannesburg, South African police said on Monday.
Police in Vanderbijlpark, a city some 70 kilometres from Johannesburg, said 11 school age children had died at the scene, and two had succumbed to their injuries later in hospital. Three others are being treated in hospital.
They said the bus driver had lost control while overtaking and hit a truck. The bus passengers were boys and girls of primary and secondary school age. President Cyril Ramaphosa expressed his sorrow at the accident. (DPA)
