Sri Lankan navy confiscates 150 kg of drugs in multi-day fishing trawler

Colombo [Sri Lanka], June 16: The Sri Lankan navy arrested six suspects and confiscated a multi-day fishing trawler with over 150 kg of narcotics, the navy said in a statement on Friday.
The trawler, suspects and drugs have been escorted to Galle Harbor, the navy said.
The raid was carried out by the navy around 740 km away from the Southern coast, the navy said.
The navy carries out frequent raids to detect drugs in the seas off Sri Lanka.

Electro Mech Limited, engaged in the field of turnkey projects of supply, installation, testing and commissioning of pumping machineries along with comprehensive operation and maintenance has reported net profit of Rs. 8.35 crore for the financial year ended March 2025, rise of 4.25% as compared to the net profit of Rs. 8.01 crore reported in the financial year 2023-24. Revenue from operations of the company for the FY25 was reported at Rs. 121.67 crore, rise of 3.96% Y-o-Y as compared to the revenue from operations of Rs. 117.03 crore.
