Three dead in new US attack in the Caribbean, says Pentagon chief

Washington [US], November 3: The US military has carried out another deadly strike on a boat allegedly loaded with drugs in the Caribbean Sea, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth said on Saturday.
Three men were killed in the attack, Hegseth wrote in a post on X, adding that the strike took place in international waters and that no US military personnel were harmed.
Hegseth cited unspecified intelligence findings to justify the strike, adding that the vessel "was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route, and carrying narcotics." He did not specify where in the Caribbean the vessel was when it was targeted.
His statements could not initially be independently verified.
"These narco-terrorists are bringing drugs to our shores to poison Americans at home-and they will not succeed," Hegseth continued. "The Department will treat them EXACTLY how we treated Al-Qaeda. We will continue to track them, map them, hunt them, and kill them." US President Donald Trump has repeatedly vowed to take tough action against drug cartels. (DPA)
