Ukrainian negotiators arrive in US

New York [US], January 18: Ukrainian negotiators have arrived in the United States for a new round of talks aimed at reaching a potential peace settlement for the war, according to the new head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Kyrylo Budanov.
In a Telegram post on Saturday, Budanov said his delegation includes National Security Council Secretary Rustem Umerov and lawmaker David Arakhamia.
"Ukraine needs a just peace. We are working for this result," Budanov wrote. The meeting is expected to take place in Miami, Florida.
Discussions are to focus on potential security guarantees for Ukraine and its long-term economic development, officials said.
Budanov named US special envoy Steve Wikoff, President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll as the main interlocutors for the US. The US side is talking to Ukraine and its European allies, and Moscow, but there are currently no direct peace talks between the warring countries. (DPA)
