Nov 11, 2024

Washington [US], November 11: US president-elect Donald Trump on Saturday said he would not invite former US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley or former secretary of state Mike Pompeo to join his new cabinet.
The two Republicans had served under Trump during his first term in office. "I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation," the president elect said in a post on his Truth Social platform.
"I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country." Trump has started putting together a team for his second term in office following his victory in the US election on Tuesday. On Friday, he announced that his campaign manager, Susan Wiles, will serve as his White House chief of staff, the first woman to hold the position. (DPA)
