U.S. stocks close mixed

New York [US], November 15: U.S. stocks ended mixed on Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 309.74 points, or 0.65 percent, to 47,147.48. The S&P 500 sank 3.38 points, or 0.05 percent, to 6,734.11. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 30.23 points, or 0.13 percent, to 22,900.59.
Seven of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in red, with materials and financials leading the laggards by losing 1.18 percent and 0.97 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, energy and technology led the gainers by adding 1.37 percent and 0.74 percent, respectively.
