US strike on alleged drug smuggling vessel kills three, says Trump

Sep 21, 2025

Washington [US], September 21: US President Donald Trump on Friday said the US military killed three people in a strike on a vessel south of the United States that was allegedly carrying drugs.
"Intelligence confirmed the vessel was trafficking illicit narcotics, and was transiting along a known narcotrafficking passage enroute to poison Americans," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, posting a video showing the strike.
It initially remained unclear whether this was a new attack or additional details of an earlier attack that Trump had reported a few days ago. When asked, a spokesman for the US Department of Defense said: "We have nothing to provide beyond the President's post." The US president said the vessel was affiliated with a "Designated Terrorist Organization conducting narcotrafficking in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility," without naming a specific group.
