UN special rapporteur Albanese to contribute to 'Gaza tribunal,' says Corbyn

Aug 24, 2025

London [UK], August 24: Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has said United Nations special rapporteur Francesca Albanese will contribute to the "Gaza tribunal" event which he is hosting.
Corbyn, who is campaigning for a new political party with the working title Your Party, said hearings for the event would take place in early September. His private member's bill for an official inquiry into the United Kingdom's role in Gaza was blocked by the government at its second reading in July.
Instead, the Peace and Justice Project which Corbyn founded is holding a two-day event called the Gaza tribunal.
On Saturday he told an Edinburgh festival audience that the special rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories would be offering her views to the hearings.
Corbyn has previously welcomed Albanese to an event at Westminster. (dpa)
